How we govern ourselves

Donations are voluntary and generally non-refundable, because funds are committed to programmes as they arrive. Where a donation was made in error, in a duplicate transaction, or for an amount the donor did not intend, we will refund it on request within 30 days of the transaction.

80G receipts are issued by email within seven working days. If a refund is processed after a receipt has been issued, the receipt is cancelled and the donor is notified in writing.

Pledge and membership records contain sensitive personal data, including health-related information. We store only what is needed, never sell or rent any record, and never share pledger details with hospitals, insurers or commercial parties.

A pledge can be withdrawn at any time, and on withdrawal the record is deleted rather than archived. Members may request a copy of their data or its deletion by writing to us.

Trustees declare interests at every board meeting, and the declaration is recorded in the minutes. A trustee with an interest in a matter does not vote on it. No trustee receives remuneration, and related-party transactions are disclosed in the annual financial statements.

Everyone working with children in our education programmes is screened and briefed on our safeguarding policy. Photographs of children are published only with a guardian's written consent, and never alongside information that could identify where a child lives or studies.

Staff, volunteers, beneficiaries and donors can raise a concern directly with the board, bypassing management entirely. Complaints are acknowledged within three working days. Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith is treated as grounds for removal.

We play no part in deciding who receives an organ. Allocation is handled by NOTTO and the state SOTTO network under the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act. We do not accept payment, gifts or favours in connection with any transplant, and we will report to the authorities anyone who offers them.

Every donation is receipted, 80G eligible, and accounted for in the annual report.
