"He gave blood every three months for thirty years. When they asked us, we already knew the answer."

Every transplant begins with a family agreeing to something on the worst day of their lives. This page is for them.
Recipients are never told who their donor was. That anonymity protects both families, but it means the people who gave are rarely named anywhere at all. This memorial exists so that they are — with their families' permission, and in their families' words.
Families choose what to share — a full name or only a first name, an age, a few words, or nothing but the year.
"He gave blood every three months for thirty years. When they asked us, we already knew the answer."
"She was twenty-eight. Four people are alive because of a decision we made in twenty minutes."
"Our imam told us it was among the highest things a person could do. That settled it for the whole family."
"Two people can see. I think about that every single morning."
"He had ticked the box on his driving licence and never mentioned it. Finding out was the only comfort we had."
"She spent her life feeding people. It would have been strange if she had stopped at the end."
"The family asked us not to use his name. They wanted him counted, but not known."
"Seva was not a word he used. It was just what he did, so we did it for him."
If your family consented to donation, we would be honoured to include them. There is no cost, and you decide exactly how much is shown.
Every family on this page was asked without warning. Yours does not have to be.
